DEEON BROWN

ABOUT

Hey guys, I’m Deeon Brown and if we haven’t met, hello. I hope to make this About section much less formal than my bio and resume by telling you a little bit of my personal story. I grew up in the East New York part of Brooklyn during a time when brands began to dominate culture. Nike, Jordan, Nintendo, McDonalds, Pepsi were all forging new pathways to connect with global audiences, especially the urban market, and I was all in. From about age nine, I used every resource I could find to connect and buy these brands. I did a lot of chores, traded everything I could find and hustled. I also frequently saw my friends fighting for clothing or knew that their parents struggled to provide products with pricing that far exceeded the median household incomes in our neighborhood. My mother was senselessly gunned down during that time and all of this created a passion in me to understand what drove fanatic consumer behavior, brand idolatry, and financial need. It drove me to focus on economics, business development and marketing. I came into the business at a young age and have spent over two decades championing aggressive                    brand growth in conjunction with cultural and community responsibility brand awareness.                                      My policy has always been to riot and innovate. For me that’s meant investigating,                                                                        confronting and changing what could be made better. I’ve been really fortunate,                                              grateful and giving in my career but I was never big on self promotion, so I hope you                                              get to learn about me through all available channels, now that I’m opening up.

You know how sometimes when you’re dealing with an issue in your life, you turn to friends and family for their opinions?

Companies often need this, too, especially when making tough decisions. Often times, clients have a perspective on how to solve the problem they are facing but want to make sure that what they’re thinking is correct (or that they aren’t so close to the challenge that they’re missing the obvious answer).

So, they turn to Deeon to come in and provide their opinion.

But this isn’t just any opinion: Because Deeon has often works with many different companies and may have worked through this problem in the past with someone else, he can really provide a perspective based on what he has seen work (or not) before.

And given this experience, Deeon can often bring new and innovative ideas or possible challenges to the table that clients probably wouldn’t have been able to see on their own.

TESTIMONIALS

My name is Terance A. Harmon, and I am currently the President and Co-Founder of Black Flight Attendants United known as BFAU. BFAU is a nonprofit organization with members who are professional flight attendants of color. Membership is stable at more than 3,200 globally, with representation from all major airlines.

Deeon lead the event development, execution and event reconciliation for our BFAU Gala and the continuing arrangement with myself on behalf of BFAU, Deeon has helped to develop and edit marketing concepts and ideas for future projects.

On all three occasions, I worked directly with Deeon and as such have first-hand knowledge of his work capabilities and character.

Over 1500 BFAU members and guests came together with Atlanta radio station V-103’s Ramona Debreaux for a special event at the World of Coca Cola in Atlanta, Georgia. The event featured a red carpet full of invited celebrity guests in support of the Airline Industry.

During the period of development for this event, Deeon wholly managed the creation and concepts that would be utilized in its execution. Deeon managed the marketing of the event, securing vendor relationships as well as leading and training the event team staff. Deeon also lead the registration and recruitment effort within the event to sign-up airline industry members who were not active BFAU members.

The work executed by Deeon was of a very high quality relative to what is typically achievable under the conditions and circumstances of developing and executing a top-tier event- and totally credited to his active involvement in all phases of the project, his high level of competency capability and determination- from start to finish. From the client perspective, I was able to state the project was a highly successful one, and acknowledged as such by many people within the Black Flight Attendants United.

In addition to the above, Deeon has been instrumental is vendor recruitment, development, mentoring, managing and both copy writing and editing.

Respectfully,

Terance A. Harmon - President BFAU US Airways CLT 11-01

Deeon's a great guy and I had the opportunity to work directly with him in his role as a lead team member and director at 347 Design. Because of this, I have first-hand knowledge of his work capabilities and the nature of his character.

In 2011, while we worked together at 347 Design, Deeon wholly managed the creation and concepts for The Butter Group venues The Darby and One Oak's Holiday Event and lead brand ideation for the growth of the agency.

As a lead representative of 347 Design, Deeon, Konstantine and myself would often meet with prospective clients. As a start-up firm, this was a great experience for not only myself, but you could see the expertise and enthusiasm with Deeon's approach to business development and market innovation.

Deeon showed a willingness to put in exceptional personal effort and time into his work. We would often work late into the evenings and have lunches together discussing market theory and strategy and its applications to small and medium sized businesses.

I have no hesitation to give any persons my recommendation of Deeon's capabilities or character.

He will always be a valued and seasoned leader in any organization.

Guillaume Fernandez - Marketing & Brand Manager EMEA at EasyScan B.V.

It is hard to believe I have known Deeon for 10 years, since our time creating marketing and branding events in Atlanta, Georgia. From the outset, Deeon has been a great source of support and energy. He has grown into a dedicated advocate and teacher of marketing and brand strategy which leaves lasting impressions on everyone around him. I am simply amazed about his accomplishments over the last few years.

He is an enthusiastic, intellectual, insightful person; the type of individual who has been able to create and execute campaigns with measurable results. As a testament to his character, he is also thoughtful enough to remember menial things such as birthdays, no matter how hectic his schedule is at the time. While his career has flourished over the years, he has managed to maintain a sense of balance in his life through travel and relationships.

I would be honored to work with him again in my position President of I.C. Concepts LLC and President  for the Black MBA Association – Atlanta Chapter

Roderick Barton, President - Black MBA Association, Atlanta Chapter

A session with Deeon offered me insight on the "how to's" in rebranding myself as I begin my new career. In an industry where first impression is everything, having expert marketing insight not only ensures a great first impression, but ensures you leave a lasting one.

Ron Pamposa - Licensed Real Estate Salesperson

I hired Deeon to create my branding logo from scratch. I had a vague idea of my vision but he truly crystalized it into a sleek, contemporary, and luxury level image that garners me compliments consistently. Beyond his creative talent, he is a consummate professional, readily available, patient and delivers product promptly. I happily recommend his services.

Deeon has been a great asset to our business. He has given us amazing branding from our business cards to our listing presentations. Because of his knowledge and creativity, my agents did not only have an amazing presentation for their clients but they also have the tools to brand themselves. Thank you Deeon for everything you have done for our office.
